Summary:Oracle Corporation, the world's largest supplier of database software and services, today announced the availability of its networking software, SQL*NET, and four Oracle Financials software packages for Hewlett-Packard Company's HP 3000 product line. SQL*NET for the HP 3000 works over HP's AdvanceNet network architecture to allow HP 3000 computers to participate in an ORACLE distributed database and client-server environment with other ORACLE hosts, including PCs, HP 9000s, DEC VAXs and IBM mainframes. ORACLE data that resides on HP 3000s can now be transparently accessed by a wide variety of clients, including PCs, Macintosh and UNIX-based workstations. Oracle is the only software vendor to offer distributed database capability on MPE XL, the HP 3000 operating system. (excerpt)
