Bull unveiled a Java Card 2.0 API-compliant development kit and demonstrated an electronic purse application developed on Bull's Odyssey card with Citibank. "Bull introduced the first phase of its Odyssey Java smart card platform in February," said Jean-Pierre Tual, vice president of Bull's Smart Cards business unit. "The ongoing program leverages Bull's 20 years of expertise in developing optimized secure smart card operating systems in order to give our customers the most advanced solutions available." The Odyssey range of Java cards is based on the specifications of the Java(TM) Card Forum, currently presided over by Bull, and on the concepts developed in the European MASSC (Multi-Application Secure Smart Card) project.
