Description
Summary:"To be effective, I need to ensure that the developers leveraging the data model have clear, accurate, and up-to-date information for building reports from our data warehouse. Our diagrams and databases must be accurate, standards must be employed, and usage policies must be communicated," said Stefania Scott, senior computer database specialist, University of Arizona. "After reviewing other available solutions, we concluded that ER/Studio not only provides the most readable reports, it also provides the most comprehensive support for implementing standard practices across a complex model and for annotating models with critical metadata such as the security classification scheme. Additionally, we found that ER/Studio was the only solution to offer support for MySQL 5.0." To enhance modeling productivity, ER/Studio 7.1 has introduced full session undo/redo to allow modelers to seamlessly reverse any unwanted actions performed while designing models as well as a number of additional workflow updates geared to streamline workflow throughout the product. In addition to these new productivity features, ER/Studio 7.1 deepens its existing support for Oracle 10gR2, IBM DB2 z/OS v 8, MySQL 5.0, Sybase ASE 12.5.3a and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and introduces new support for Sybase IQ, a popular platform for data warehousing and decision support systems. ER/Studio, a model-driven data architecture and database design solution, helps companies discover, document, and reuse data assets. With round-trip database support, data architects and database developers have the power to thoroughly analyze existing data sources as well as design and implement high quality databases that reflect business needs. The highly-readable visual format enhances communication across business roles and functions. ER/Studio Enterprise addition also enables organization-wide collaboration with its repository.
