| Shrnutí: | A United Nations committee on Tuesday adopted a resolution critical of human rights abuses in Iran, but the measure was watered down to encourage Tehran's cooperation with rights investigations and to gain its permission for the Red Cross to visit its prisons. The resolution was passed by the General Assembly's committee on human rights just as Amnesty International accused Tehran of a wave of executions. Draft language criticizing "executions, ill-treatment and torture" in Iran was deleted by the committee. The adopted measure expresses concern over "allegations of violations of human rights." |
