Shrnutí:This study examines the culinary culture of Belen, Hatay Province, from its historical, sociocultural, and economic perspectives. Using qualitative research methods, semi-structured interviews were conducted with participants from diverse age and socioeconomic groups, and the data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis. The research findings reveal that Belen's culinary culture strongly preserves social memory and cultural continuity through its rich variety of dishes, traditional cooking techniques, collective production methods, and ritual meals. Historical heritage from the Ottoman period to the present, multigenerational family structure, collaborative winter preparations, and social rituals such as weddings, funerals, and holidays are among the fundamental elements that constitute the region's gastronomic identity. A comparative analysis with the literature demonstrates that Belen has significant potential for gastronomic tourism and can achieve a strong destination identity at national and international levels by integrating sustainable gastronomic approaches with modern tourism strategies. In this context, the study emphasizes the strategic role of culinary culture in preserving cultural heritage, strengthening social solidarity, and supporting regional development.
