Zusammenfassung:The overview study brings closer one of possible solutions of complicated relation of psychological research to psychological practice, the approach called evidence-based psychology. It is inspired by the analogical effort in medicine but in psychology it gains specific nuances. The study mentions the historical roots, the birth, and the contemporary form of evidence-based medicine. It shows how this approach inspired one by one the particular psychological fields on the example of American Psychological Association. Different levels of application are characterized, starting by evidence-based policy to empirically based intervention. Most attention is paid to evidence-based psychological practice. Referring to the work of Hoagwood and Johnson it brings closer five emerging approaches: 1. The academic approach, 2. Empirically validated approach, 3. Evidence-based therapy, 4. Multidisciplinary approach, 5. School psychological approach. Two of three components of evidence-based practice are analyzed in detail: research evidence and psychologist's expertise. In the conclusion, weak points and problems emerging during the application of evidence-based psychology are discussed. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
