| Shrnutí: | Population-Based Incremental Learning (PBIL) algorithm is an evolutionary algorithm technique that belongs to the class of Estimation of Distribution Algorithms (EDAs) which has been proposed as an extension of Genetic Algorithms (GAs). It combines aspects of simple Genetic Algorithms (GAs) and competitive learning. PBIL has been used recently to solve many optimization problems in engineering and other field with promising results. However, this algorithm is not well-known by the larger community of researchers. This paper presents a short survey on the standard PBIL algorithm and the many variants that have been proposed. |
