| Summary: | Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) strategy is the preferred mode of industrial inverter control these days. It is so because this strategy has several advantages over conventional Sine-PWM technique. Continuous research is going on SVPWM technique to improve DC bus utilization, to reduce harmonic content and common-mode voltage and current etc. This paper presents low cost implementation of SVPWM technique using an 8-bit mid-level fixed point processor. This avoids any complicated calculation process like integration etc. MATLAB-Simulink has been used as a digital simulation platform for successful logical implementation of SVPWM technique involving only basic Simulink library blocks. Experimental validation of the proposed algorithm has been successfully carried out in the laboratory using the 8-bit digital controller PIC18F4431. |
