Shrnutí:Reported is a case of massive infection of the upper and lower respiratory tract of a tiger python ( Python molurus) with Bordetella spp.. Specifics of the snake respiratory tract will be described. By means of sequencing and biochemical tests the bacteria could not completely differentiated as B. avium or B. hinzii. However, B. hinzii is known as apathogen, therefore an infection with B. avium is more likely. This bacterium is mainly pathogenic in avian species, there are no reports in snakes so far. In this case one of the predisposing factors might have been a defect in the heating.
