Pielęgniarka jako pracownik ochrony zdrowia powinna kierować się w swoim postępowaniu nie tylko zasadą niewyrządzania pacjentowi krzywdy, lecz także działania w jego najlepiej pojętym interesie, w poszanowaniu jego autonomii oraz sprawiedliwego podziału zasobów. W świetle włączania nowych technologii w opiekę nad pacjentem warto ocenić potrzebę dostosowania dotychczasowo obowiązujących zasad etycznych celem świadczenia jak najlepszej opieki, budowania relacji terapeutycznej z pacjentem oraz przeciwdziałania występowania u pielęgniarki dylematów etycznych i dystresu moralnego As a health care professional, a nurse should support not only the principle of nonmaleficence, but also beneficence and respect patient’s autonomy and fair distribution of resources.
