Zusammenfassung:The toolpath optimisation has become the need of the hour due to fourth industrial revolution. The article presents an investigation on the toolpath optimisation for drilling process. Two novel algorithms have been introduced and implemented, namely Random Start of Shortest Distance Permutation (RSSDP) and First Point Start Shortest Distance Permutation (FPSSDP). The outcome has been compared with Shortest Distance Location (SDL) algorithm and Travelling Salesman Problem algorithm (TSP). MATLAB is used to implement the algorithms. Moreover, virtual simulation is carried out in CATIA V5 software. The results have shown significant reduction in the non-productive machining time.
