| Shrnutí: | The world production of tomato is about 1590 million tons. This article gives overview of tomato production in the European Union. Due to its chemical properties, tomato is one of the most popular cultures in these countries. But the mains producers are Italy and Spain. Tomato is grown for processing and fresh consumption in these countries. The article analyzes the current state of production of tomatoes, identifies key factors that have a direct impact on its production. The position of the countries on the world market is also studied. Their experience can be used in The Russian Federation. |
