| Popis: | Placing concrete using a truck-mounted pump is a common construction method, enabling pouring of large volumes of concrete in a highly efficient way. However, the method is associated with unfavorable working conditions due to the need for manual handling of the end-hose. The hose-man are exposed to hazardous and poor working conditions. This paper reports on efforts to develop a robotic system for wireless remote control of a concrete pump’s end-hose. The idea is to replace the need for manual handling of the end-hose. The robotic system is comprised of four pneumatic actuators (so called pneumatic muscles) attached to the pump’s end-hose by two light-weight fixtures, and a control system. The proposed system offers improved safety and working conditions for concrete crew members. The robotic device was tested both in laboratory and in real conditions during concrete pumping.
