Abstrakt: A program guide is displayed which lists the availability of information for a program listed in the guide, where such information is obtained from a source accessible through the Internet, where the guide uses first color to indicate the availability of such information and a second color when such information is not available.

Claim: 1. A method comprising the steps of: generating an electronic program guide comprising a grid with one axis comporting to time and a second axis comprising identifiers corresponding to at least one broadcaster and a disc player, listing programs broadcasted from at least one broadcaster in said electronic program guide at the time each of said programs are being broadcasted from said at least one broadcaster; generating at least one listing in a said displayable electronic program guide grid for at least one video program stored on a disc in a disc player; indicating in said guide whether information related to said at least one video program and programs broadcasted from at least one broadcaster are available from a source that is accessible through a network connection using first color to indicate the availability of said information through said network connection, and a second color when said information is not available for at least one program through said network connection.
Claim: 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said network connection is an Internet based connection.
Claim: 3. The method of claim 2 , wherein said disc player is capable playing back Digital Versatile Discs (DVD).
Claim: 4. The method of claim 2 , further comprising the steps of: requesting said information from said Internet based connection; and receiving requested information; and generating a signal which is capable of being displayed which incorporates said requested information.
