Description: This paper reviews the indications for, and the biological basis of, costochondral grafting for mandibular condyle replacement in adults and children. Our approach to costochondral grafting is described and illustrated, and known variations in techniques are reviewed and discussed. Data from our clinical series of 28 grafts is summarized.
