Popis: Starting from the idea of respecting the children's voices and putting the child's best interest and wellbeing as a priority (Dockett, Einarsdottir and Perry, 2019; Eriksen, 2018; GC14 Committee on the Rights of the Child, 2013; UNCRC, 1989), these values need to be developed within musical activities as well during the child's stay in an institution for early and preschool education. Along with the well-being of the child, in the context of the contemporary paradigm of childhood, creativity stands out as an educational value that represents the basis of the child's development into an initiative and innovative person (National Curriculum for Early and Preschool Education, 2015). The aim of the paper was to investigate and describe children's reactions during music listening activities from the perspective of creativity, education for democracy, and children's well-being and involvement. As part of the case study, different forms of music listening activities were conducted with a group of children (N= 14) aged 3-5 years. Recordings of the conducted activities were analyzed from the aspect of the development of the child's creative potential, from the aspect of education for democracy, while as well as the level of children’s well-being and involvement in the activities was assessed (Laevers, 2005). The analysis of the conducted activities leads to the conclusion that music listening activities based on a flexible approach in working with children and encouraging and accepting original and authentic ideas while listening to children's voices, indicates the presence of children`s divergent ways of thinking as one of the fundamental features of creativity. High levels of children's well-being and involvement in music listening activities with freedom of their creative expression and the quality of the activities also indicate a high level of realization of children's rights as a fundamental democratic value in education.
