| Description: |
The increasing demand for clean energy necessitates innovations in renewable energy technologies to enhance both performance and cost efficiency. A novel lightweight tetra-shaped solar panel has been developed. This study examines the aerodynamic performance of this design through a field measurement campaign. A 4x4 configuration of tetra-shaped panels was installed on the flat roof of a high-rise building to analyse the aerodynamic lift forces acting on the panels under varying wind conditions. Wind speed and direction at the location, along with the resulting pressures on the upper and lower surfaces of the panels, were measured simultaneously to assess the resulting lift forces. The first results indicate that the innovative tetra design seems to exhibit relatively low average lift forces across various wind speeds and directions, while peak lift forces increase with wind speed. |
