Description: the paper offers a diagnostic method for determining the level of formation of professionally important qualities of an educational leader on the basis of a system-qualitative approach that combines systematicity and principles of qualitology. The definition of the formation of qualities is introduced separately for each sphere: emotional-volitional sphere, professional activity sphere, cognitive sphere, interpersonal relations sphere and sphere of self-relation. The authors calculated the total level of formation of all qualities belonging to the five specified spheres using a mathematical apparatus of matrix computation. The factor-criterion model of an educational leader is theoretically substantiated with a detailed analysis of all the units of which it consists. The levels of formation of professionally important qualities of an educational leader are highlighted and characterized: they are high, medium and low levels.
