Description: Distant learning is a new, progressive, system-forming type of training which includes the elements of full-time training, as well as modern scientific and methodological support, which is assessed through the use of modern information technologies, telecommunication networks etc. Opportunities for distance learning in the field of education have been considered through the prism of postgraduate pedagogical education, where there is a constant need to improve the level of knowledge, skills and abilities. The effectiveness of distance learning depends on the ways of providing educational materials, control over the implementation of the curriculum, the possibility of unimpeded contact with the teacher. In the distance form of professional development of teachers, the emphasis is shifted to the independent work of the student, and the role of the teacher is transformed into a mentor who organizes independent training of students, improves their professional level and creative potential. The purpose of the article is to reveal the features of distance learning in in-service education in Zakarpattia using a wide range of educational platforms, messengers, social networks etc. In the article we used scientific methods of analysis of scientific, psychological, pedagogical, educational, methodological, and special literature, the analysis of information sources on the research problem, synthesis and generalization of theoretical issues which are presented in scientific and educational literature. The analysis of different methods and forms of modern educational process with use of information technologies is carried out. The possibility and efficiency of teachers’ professional development in the conditions of distance learning is substantiated. The relevance of the application of various methods of distance learning in terms of changing the system of learning and teaching, providing educational information and the use of available and effective means of communication are proved in the article.
