Popis: One of the most difficult religious and philosophical questions – the relationship between predestination and free will-became particularly important at the beginning of the Reformation, when almost all Catholic ideas about religious life were called into question. Gabriel Biel, Erasmus of Rotterdam and Martin Luther reflected on this question, and the second and third of them wrote special works on this topic. The article alternately examines their positions, and then gives their comparative analysis. At the same time, it is shown that the views of each of them were based on one or another understanding of human nature in its relation to God. In addition, an attempt is made to prove that the differences in the interpretations of this problem largely stemmed from the different priorities given by these thinkers to two phenomena – grace and free will. In turn, these differences, as shown in the article, were associated with the peculiarities of the general worldview and life experience of Biel, Erasmus and Luther. The analysis is limited to two aspects of the problem: 1) predestination is understood only as a divine decision about the final fate of each person (salvation or damnation); 2) free will is considered only as a factor of this final fate. Один из самых сложных религиозно-философских вопросов – соотношение предопределения и свободы воли – приобрел особую значимость в начале Реформации, когда под сомнение были поставлены почти все католические представления о религиозной жизни. Габриэль Биль, Эразм Роттердамский и Мартин Лютер размышляли над этим вопросом, причем второй и третий из них написали на эту тему специальные труды. В статье поочередно рассматриваются их позиции, а затем дается их сравнительный анализ. При этом показывается, что в основе взглядов каждого из них лежало то или иное понимание человеческой природы в ее отношении к Богу. Кроме того, делается попытка доказать, что различия в трактовках этой проблемы во многом проистекали из различных приоритетов, придаваемых этими мыслителями двум феноменам – благодати и свободе воли. В свою очередь, эти различия, как показывается в статье, были связаны с особенностями общего мировоззрения и жизненного опыта Биля, Эразма и Лютера. Анализ ограничивается двумя аспектами проблемы: 1) предопределение понимается только как Божественное решение о конечной судьбе каждого человека (спасение или проклятие); 2) свобода воли рассматривается только в качестве фактора этой конечной судьбы.
