| Description: | The article is dedicated to WebQuest technique, its usage in foreign language teaching. It focuses on studying the impact of using WebQuest on enhancing students’ lexical knowledge and cultural awareness, as a result intercultural communication competence develops. And this is one of the main aims of foreign language teaching. WebQuests are applied in the educational process in the discipline “Foreign Language” at Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The paper covers some advantages of this technique and difficulties of its application. The effectiveness of WebQuest in the context of raising cultural awareness and developing lexical knowledge is investigated. The involvement of students in the educational process and their attitude to this way of teaching is analysed. Based on the results of the study, a conclusion is made that when eliminating the difficulties encountered, this technique has a positive feedback from students; increases their interest in the topic being studied; improves language knowledge and develops skills which are necessary for intercultural communication. Данная статья посвящена веб-квест технологии, ее использованию при обучении иностранному языку. Основное внимание направлено на изучение влияния веб-квеста на развитие лексического навыка и повышение культурной осведомленности студентов, что способствует формированию и развитию межкультурной компетенции. А это является одной из основных целей обучения иностранному языку. Веб-квесты применялись в учебном процессе по дисциплине «Иностранный язык» в Финансовом университете при Правительстве РФ. В статье раскрываются преимущества данной технологии и трудности применения. Исследуется эффективность применения веб-квеста в контексте повышения культурной осведомленности и развития лексического навыка. Анализируется степень вовлеченности студентов в учебный процесс и их отношение к такому обучению. По результатам проведенного исследования делается вывод, что при устранении возникших трудностей такая форма обучения находит положительный отклик у студентов; повышает их интерес к изучаемой теме; улучшает знание языка и развивает навыки, необходимые для межкультурной коммуникации. |
