Popis: This tribute to Professor Philip Molyneux highlights some of his many achievements and the legacy he left. Phil was a leading figure in the academic arena of banking and finance who cared passionately about mentoring the next generation of academic teachers and researchers. He worked with many co-authors from around the world and it is testament to Phil that several of his PhD students have become professors of banking and finance, while others have gone on to hold senior positions in policy institutions. We summarise Phil's vast body of research under select headings, while recognising that the choice of topics is not exhaustive. Phil also investigated financial exclusion, corruption in lending, and environmental issues, such as carbon emissions and climate change. Our article draws upon the tribute we made to Phil at this year's Wolpertinger Conference in Palermo.
