Abstrakt:	The article offers information on MySQL Proxy, a lightweight program that sits between the client and MySQL database. Proxy monitors, analyzes and manipulates the communication. The flexibility offered by the Lua engine provides power to MySQL Proxy. This program is licensed under the GNU Public License and can be downloaded from http://forge.mysql.com/wiki/MySQL#x0331;Proxy. The author suggests the use of the Subversion tree since it contains bleeding-edge code, even though official binaries are available for some platforms. He also presents instruction on how to check, compile and install MySQL Proxy.
