Abstract:	The article focuses on the creation of the 2D Data Matrix barcode for the drug packaging of the pharmaceutical industry in France. The new legislation has required all the pharmaceutical products to be labeled with a CIP 13 number. It explores the importance of the GS1 General Specifications from the GS1 Organisation to be able to obtain quality prints of the 2D Data Matrix barcode.
