This study examines the determinants of the open unemployment rate in 27 districts/cities in West Java for the 2018-2024. Using panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model, analyzing the influence of economic growth, the Human Development Index, the Labor Force Participation Rate, and the number of people on unemployment. The results showed economic growth (coefficient -0.309; p<0.005), HDI (coefficient -0.432; p<0.005), and TPAK (coefficient -0.087; p<0.05) a significant negative effect on unemployment, while the population was insignificant (p=0.057). The model explains 86.05% variation in unemployment change. The findings indicate that the decline in unemployment in West Java is more determined by the quality of human resources and economic strength than demographic factors, emphasizing the importance of inclusive growth strategies.
