Abstract (English): The Lower Saxony People database at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Library (GWLB) has launched a new user interface. Around 40,000 people with different connections to Lower Saxony and Bremen are listed there including biographical information and sources. This article outlines the data basis, the project work, the functionalities of the new search interface, and the technical implementation process. The project shows that setting-up a search portal can be achieved without significant financial and human resources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
Abstract (German): Die Datenbank Niedersächsische Personen der Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Bibliothek (GWLB) hat eine neue Benutzeroberfläche https://personen.niedersaechsische-bibliographie.de [Zugriff: 10.10.2025].. Rund 40.000 Menschen mit Bezug zu Niedersachsen und Bremen sind hier mit biografischen Angaben und Quellen verzeichnet. Dieser Beitrag gibt einen Einblick in die Datengrundlage, die Projektarbeit, die Funktionalitäten der neuen Rechercheoberfläche und die technische Umsetzung. Das Projekt zeigt, dass der Aufbau eines Suchportals auch ohne große finanzielle und personelle Mittel gelingen kann. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
