| Abstract (English): |
This research is motivated by the significant increase in tourism sector development in Bali, with the number of non-star hotel rooms increasing from 32,810 rooms in 2021 to 36,886 rooms in 2023. Land limitations in South Bali have prompted investors to shift toward building hotels and villas in the central Bali hilly regions, which necessitate slope stability analysis using gravity-type retaining walls (DPT). The objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of safety factors and economic value between continuous gravity DPT and terraced DPT at various height and slope angle variations. The research method uses numerical analysis with the Finite Element Method (FEM) through the Plaxis application to evaluate safety factors on four gravity DPT models with variations in the number of terraces, terrace height, and slope angles of 45° and 60° on 10-meter high slopes. Economic evaluation was conducted by comparing DPT cross-sectional areas, excavation volumes, and fill volumes. The results show that the safety factor for continuous DPT is 5-15% higher compared to terraced DPT, but requires a cross-sectional area up to 145% larger and excavation volume 162%-225% greater. The implications of this research indicate that terraced DPT is more economically efficient despite having slightly lower safety factors, making it a more practical alternative for slope stability management at heights around 10 meters in Bali's hilly regions. | Abstract (Indonesian): |
