Abstract (English): The article examines the autobiographies of emigrated filmmakers and writers, particularly Fritz Kortner, Maria Matray, and Carl Zuckmayer, in the context of exile during National Socialism. These works reflect personal and collective experiences of persecution, flight, and starting anew in a foreign country. Kortner's autobiography "Aller Tage Abend" and Matray's "Die jüngste von vier Schwestern" provide insights into their life stories and the challenges associated with remigration and artistic careers in the post-war period. Zuckmayer's memoirs serve as the basis for a documentary play that addresses his time in exile and highlights the interactions between the autobiographies. [Extracted from the article]
Abstract (German): Der Artikel untersucht die Autobiographien von emigrierten Filmschaffenden und Schriftstellern, insbesondere von Fritz Kortner, Maria Matray und Carl Zuckmayer, im Kontext des Exils während des Nationalsozialismus. [Extracted from the article]
