Abstract (English): Since its formation in 1945, the United Nations system has played a pivotal role as an exogenous catalyst for decolonization in the Afro-Asian world. In Africa, initially, it was Egypt, Ethiopia, Liberia, and South Africa (1945). As the colonial breakup progressed, it recognized the new states that began forming part of the emerging post-war international system. In view of the role played by this organization, this paper aims to analyze the place of this continent in the UN’s development frameworks, considering the scope and prospects for the new millennium.
