| Abstract (English): |
Electric vehicles (EVs) have gained attention as an environmentally friendly solution to reduce carbon emissions from conventional vehicles. However, adoption rates in Indonesia remain low despite government incentives and supportive policies. This study aims to analyze the influence of dissatisfaction with conventional vehicles, environmental concern, and switching costs on consumers' intention to switch to electric vehicles. A quantitative approach with an explanatory survey method was used. Data were collected from 399 respondents across Java Island who own motor vehicles. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results reveal that environmental concern and switching costs significantly influence the intention to switch to EVs, while dissatisfaction with conventional vehicles does not have a significant effect. These findings suggest that the decision to adopt EVs is more strongly driven by positive motivators and perceived ease of transition rather than negative perceptions of existing technology. The implication of this study emphasizes the importance of public education campaigns highlighting the benefits of EVs and reducing perceived switching barriers. Policymakers and manufacturers are encouraged to enhance incentive programs and expand EV infrastructure, such as charging stations, to accelerate consumer transition toward electric mobility. | Abstract (Indonesian): |
