The ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education brought about a paradigm shift in information literacy education at universities. The article discusses the potential and scope of the framework and explores what impact the framework has on the instruction of teaching librarians. Reception and implementation of the framework are presented in a literature review and investigated in a survey by the author. The results of this survey show how the framework has been received in the German-speaking countries. Can it be put into practice? To what extent is it implemented? Which aspects and frames are covered in library instruction? Have the professional competencies of the teaching librarians changed? In what ways has teaching changed as a result? Das Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education der ACRL brachte einen Paradigmenwechsel für die Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz an Hochschulen. Der Artikel diskutiert das Potenzial und die Reichweite des Frameworks und geht der Frage nach, welche Auswirkungen das Framework auf die Schulungs- bzw. Unterrichtspraxis der Teaching Librarians Als „Teaching Librarians" werden Bibliothekar*innen bezeichnet, die in Bibliotheken schulen bzw. unterrichten (Sühl-Strohmenger (2015) 2. hat. Rezeption und Umsetzung des Frameworks werden in einer Literaturübersicht dargestellt und in einer Umfrage der Autorin untersucht. Die Ergebnisse der Befragung sollen zeigen, wie das Framework im deutschen Sprachraum angekommen ist. Wird es als brauchbar für die Praxis angesehen? In welchem Ausmaß wird es umgesetzt? Welche Inhalte bzw. Schwellenkonzepte werden in die Unterrichtspraxis einbezogen? Haben sich die fachlichen Kompetenzen der Teaching Librarians dadurch verändert?
