Abstract (English): Aim; In our study, it was aimed to determine the problematic media use of children aged 4-11 years and affecting factors from the perspective of parents.Method; This descriptive study was conducted between December 2023 and February 2024 with 433 parents with children aged 4-11 years. The research data were collected using the “Parent and Child Introduction Form” and the “Problematic Media Use Scale- Short Form”. The data were analysed using SPSS 26.0 (IBM Inc, Chicago, IL, USA) statistical package programme using mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentage, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test. Ethics Committee permission was obtained for the conduct of the study and digital consent was obtained from the parents for participation in the study. Results; In our study, it was determined that age and education levels of parents, gender and number of siblings in children were effective in children's problematic media use. It was determined that children's daily internet usage time was 2-4 hours (38.8%), they used media tools mostly for watching videos/gaming (96.8%), parents were frequently worried about their children's use of media tools (32.6%) and they used internet filter programmes (64.2%). When the practices of parents regarding their children's problematic media use were examined, it was determined that they mostly used practices such as warning speech (25.9%) and/or time restriction (23.8%). Conclusion; The results of this study showed that the level of problematic media use is high in children aged 4- 11 years. Children's internet usage time, parents' education level and occupation affect children's problematic media use. In order to reduce problematic media use in children, it is recommended that both parents and children should be given awareness training on media use, and problematic media use should be taken into consideration in the realisation of education and training activities of children in this age group. Abstract (Turkish): Giriş ve Amaç: Araştırmamızda, ebeveynlerin gözünden 4-11 yaş arası çocukların problemli medya kullanımı ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.
