SystemLink: Moving beyond Aquatic-Terrestrial Interactions to Incorporate Food Web Studies SystemLink is an interdisciplinary research training group funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) involving multiple cohorts of international doctoral researchers closely cooperating at the iES Landau, Institute for Environmental Sciences, Germany. The goal of SystemLink is to investigate how anthropogenic stressors on aquatic ecosystems affect ecological and biogeochemical processes in adjacent terrestrial ecosystems. With this in mind, we developed outdoor mesocosm facilities tailored for replicated research of aquatic-terrestrial linkages in lotic and lentic ecosystems: The Riparian Stream Mesocosm (RSM) and the Floodplain Pond Mesocosm (FPM).
