The aim of the paper is to assess the actual capacity of the corridor lines in Slovakia in terms of the freight transport needs and EU transport policy objectives, based on the analysis of track capacity. The railway track sections of the north-south corridor on the ŽSR network are problematic from the point of view of limited capacity, especially at Štúrovo border station. Part of the research includes measures leading to an increase in the capacity of lines and stations for the needs of transit freight. These measures have to be assessed from an operational and economic point of view. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

Lo scopo della presente memoria è valutare la capacità effettiva dei corridoi ferroviari in Slovacchia, in termini di esigenze di trasporto merci e obiettivi della politica dei trasporti dell'UE, sulla base dell'analisi della capacità delle linee. Le direttrici ferroviarie del corridoio nord-sud della rete ŽSR sono problematiche dal punto di vista della capacità limitata, in particolare alla stazione di confine di Štúrovo. Parte della ricerca proposta comprende indicazioni che portano a un aumento della capacità di linee e stazioni, per le esigenze del trasporto merci in transito.
