Abstract (English): The role of administrative courts in Germany is to examine the legality of administrative action. A wide range of legal disputes may therefore be the subject of administrative court proceedings, such as those pertaining to construction law, laws governing school education, higher education and science and research, or asylum law. The outcome of proceedings is a frequent topic in public discussion. Based on the statistics of administrative court proceedings, this article presents results for the current reporting year of 2024, discusses the development of proceedings over time and also quantifies the proceedings handled by chambers specialising in asylum matters compared to those dealt with by general chambers. Abstract (German): Verwaltungsgerichte prüfen die Rechtmäßigkeit von Verwaltungshandeln.
