AbstractThe current research investigates the impact of distributive injustice (DI) on hotel employees’ innovative behavior (EIB). The study also explored the mediating role of social loafing (SL)in the relationship between distributive injustice and employees’ innovative behavior and in the relationship between distributive injustice with workplace mindfulness. It also examines the moderating role of workplace mindfulness (WM) in the relationship between social loafing and employee’s innovative behavior. This study relied on survey methodology. 324 valid surveys were collected from employees worked at the 5-star hotels operating in Egypt and were analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results showed a positive relationship between DI with SL and WM. A negative relationship between DI and EIB also existed. Furthermore, there was a positive relationship between SL and WM, in addition, a negative relationship between SL and EIB. Results also revealed a moderating role of WM in the relationship between SL and EIB. Moreover, SL mediates DI-EIB and DI-WM relationships. The study makes a theoretical contribution to filling the gap in literature on DI, SL, WM, and EIB in the hotel industry. In practice, the research provides hotel management with guidelines for combating SL and maximizing the benefits of WM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
