Abstrakt: In recent decades, university innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems (UIEEs) have emerged across the globe. We consider the managerial and policy implications of UIEEs and provide a rationale for our special issue on this topic. We also present a summary of the papers contained in the special issue, highlighting research questions, theories, data and methods, and principal findings and conclusions. We conclude by outlining a research agenda on UIEEs, focusing on multilevel research on agents, institutions, and regions across context, process, and impact of such ecosystems.
