Abstrakt:	The article discusses Russia's attempt to curtail Internet access by blocking the instant messaging service and blogging platform Telegram on April 15, 2018. It states that the Russian Internet regulator Roskomnadzor tried to block Telegram for not complying with a law which requires all Internet companies to physically store their data on Russian users. It also highlights that cutting the country off from the Internet would signal a major retreat into repression andi isolation.
