Abstract: Using compound words with Jārrah letters is one of the applications where not being careful can lead to interpretation errors. One of them is the combination of "Ḍaraba bi" which is also used in the story of Prophet Job (as), verse 44 of Surah Ṣād. Influenced by their mental imaginations and the famous narration of the story from narrative sources, the commentators chose it as the meaning of whipping Job's wife, without carefully examining the words and combinations. This research deals with the principle of semantic evolution and the influence of Jārrah letters in giving meaning to verbs and relying on the criticism of the interpretations surrounding the verse, he delved into the meaning of the desired combination. Then while examining all the verses involving this combination, he reached the achievement that "Ḍaraba bi" in verse Ṣād:44 and other verses means to drag one surface over another and place something on top of another. In this reading, after healing Job’s feet and other internal organs, God orders him to apply a special plant and nine hundred strands of plants as a bandage and medicine to heal Ayyūb’s hands. In this analysis, Ḥinth is also taken in the same traditional and customary Quranic meaning, which means sin and anything that causes harm and loss, and there is no reason to limit it to breaking a covenant.
