Abstract Este ensayo explora cómo la música se convierte en una forma de activismo y respuesta frente a la crisis de violencia de género en Puerto Rico tras el paso del huracán María. Esta crisis se evidencia en la alta tasa de feminicidios, que son acompañados por informes policiales inconsistentes y la agravante inacción gubernamental. La canción "Libre y peligrosa" de Plena Combativa -así como el mural del Colectivo Moriviví que inspira la plena-, el bolero "Temes" de iLe, y el vídeo musical de "Solo de mí" de Bad Bunny son obras que contribuyen al llamado contra la violencia de género que tuvo lugar durante las protestas masivas en 2019. Dichas producciones restablecen el rol de la música como catalítico para la acción comunitaria y el activismo político, al mismo tiempo que funcionan como una manera de honrar las vidas perdidas.
