재학생 중도 탈락 예측을 위한 랜덤포레스트 모형

| Abstract | 최근 들어 대학진학 학령인구의 감소는 대학의 생존에 큰 영향을 끼치고 있다. 더구나 대학 진학률 또한 점차 감소하는 추세에서 대학은 여러 가지로 학생모집에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 특히 지방 사립대학은 더 큰 영향을 받고 있다. 대학생의 중도 이탈은 다양한 요인에 의해 영향을 받는다. 본 연구는 다양한 설명 요인을 이용하여 대학 재학생의 중도 이탈 가능성을 예측하고, 사전에 중도 이탈을 방지하는 방안을 제시함을 목적으로 한다. 연구 모형은 다양한 입력자료와 중도 탈락 여부를 알려주는 출력자료를 이용하여 모델을 학습시키는 랜덤포레스트 모형을 적용한다. 본 연구를 통해 학생의 중도 이탈 원인을 파악하고, 이를 예방할 방안을 수립함으로써 대학의 경쟁력 강화에 이바지할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. In recent years, the decline in the university-age population has a great impact on the survival of the university. Moreover, as the university entrance rate is also gradually decreasing, universities are having difficulty in recruiting students in various ways. In particular, local private universities are being affected more. The dropout of college students is affected by various factors. The purpose of this study is to predict the possibility of dropout of university students using various explanatory factors and to suggest a plan to prevent dropout in advance. The research model applies a random forest model in which the model is trained using various input data and output data that inform whether or not they have dropped out. Through this study, it is expected that it will be able to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of universities by identifying the causes of students' dropout and establishing measures to prevent them.
