Description
Summary:The Adaptive Vector Quantization (AVQ) device performs 4 to 1 compression and expansion of digitized voice data using the adaptive vector quantization algorithm. The device addresses off chip static RAM's to store and access the algorithm code book. Other than the RAM's and analog circuitry, the device is a one chip solution for both compression and decompression. The device was designed in a high level design language. It was then synthesized, simulated and laid out ala standard cell device. This talk will focus on the issues which came up during high level design I language synthesis, standard cell layout, and final timing verification.
