| Summary: | In this paper, we consider the problem of joint bandwidth and power allocation for the relay aided orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) system. A fractional frequency reuse (FFR) technique for interference mitigation in relay OFDMA cellular wireless networks is proposed based on a statistical knowledge of the user channels. The resource allocation problem is formulated as a power minimization problem, subject to meeting the target rates of all users in the network. We develop a distributed algorithm to find the globally optimal cell bandwidth allocation, user sub-carrier numbers and power allocation dynamically based on traffic demands and channel conditions. Our numerical results show that the presented solution has better performance compared to the fixed bandwidth allocation methods. |
