Summary:In this paper, we propose a concept of spatial field digital modulation (SFDM), and compare it with the conventional modulation to discuss the difference between them. Next, we explain the advantages of using orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode-group to implement SFDM, and prove it by calculation. Then, SFDM system based on OAM mode-group is proposed and theoretically analyzed. Finally, the influence of the system parameters to its anti-noise performance is analyzed numerically.
