Description
Summary:This chapter takes a task-based approach to teaching grammar in communicative contexts. However, it is not about tasks in general, as that subject has been the topic of numerous books and articles (e.g., R. Ellis, 2003; Nunan, 2004; Robinson & Gilabert, 2007; Samuda & Bygate, 2008), and specific tasks are discussed in other chapters (Chapters 3 and 7). In this chapter we are dealing with a special type of task which has the target grammar point presented implicitly or explicitly as the task content. These are structured grammar-focused tasks, also called grammar consciousness-raising tasks.
