Abstract Interferentziazko RNA, sarritan RNAi gisa laburtuta, eukarioto ugaritan aurkitzen den kate bikoitzeko RNA (dsRNA) molekula hartuta, transkripziozko geneak isilaraztea eragiten duen prozesu biologikoa da. Gene jakin batzuen espresioa ezabatzeak garrantzi handia du zelula garatzeko eta desberdintzeko, eta honek garrantzi handia edukiko du minbizia eta birusen aurkako defentsan. Gaur egun, interferentziazko RNAk nahiz eta duela gutxi aurkitutako molekulak izan, laborategietan erabilera terapeutikoan gero eta gehiago erabiltzen ari diren, biologia molekularreko erreminta garrantzitsuak bilakatu dira. Ildo horretatik, RNAi emaitza itxaropentsuak erakutsi ditu ikerketa klinikoetan, horien artean, infekzio birikoak, neuroendekapenezko gaixotasunetan edota minbiziaren tratamenduan. RNA interference often abbreviated as RNAi, is found in many eukaryotes and is a biological process which leads to post transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS) trigger by double stranded RNA (dsRNA) molecules. Downregulating the expression of specific genes plays important roles in essential processes, such as cell development and differentiation, cancer and defense against viruses. Currently, RNA interference is being shown as an increasing molecular biology technique due to its great potential in terms of its therapeutic uses. In this sense, RNAi is the subject of clinical research, with promising results in the treatment of viral infections, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
