Description
Summary:A rate allocation strategy is developed based on a constrained optimization framework that attempts to minimize the packet losses caused by both wireless environment and network congestion in a multi-hop wireless ad hoc network. By the assumption of a pre-existing multi-path routing protocol, the proposed method adaptively calculates the optimal rates of each source-destination path associated with the video application in order to minimize overall loss rate subject to guarantee a minimum bandwidth between source and destination. The allocated rates can be used by an appropriate video encoder (e.g. H.264/AVC) for adapting the appropriate encoding parameters to the available network resources.
