On the diagnosing algorithm for networks
An example is given for which the diagnosing algorithm for networks, proposed by T. Kameda, S. Toida and F. J. Allan, fails to compute the correct system diagnosis. A correction of the algorithm is described.

| AbstractList | The diagnostic algorithm for networks proposed by Kameda, Toida, and Allan is one of the frequently cited fault identification algorithms for one-step t-fault diagnosable systems of the Preparata, Metze, and Chien (PMC) model. This work not only points the inconsistency in the description of the algorithm, but also presents the correction. The correction may be of interest to the programmers implementing algorithms for diagnosis of multi-chip-modules or multiprocessor systems. An example is given for which the diagnosing algorithm for networks, proposed by T. Kameda, S. Toida and F. J. Allan, fails to compute the correct system diagnosis. A correction of the algorithm is described. |
