Analysis of cracks originating at the boundary of a circular hole in an infinite plate by using a new conformal mapping approach

In this work, we introduce a new conforming mapping method to resolve the problem of cracks emanating from a hole in a linear elastic plate subjected to an in-plane tension. The conformal mapping is exact and simple. Several extensions are possible to resolve this class of problems.
