| Summary: | In this work we apply computer algebra methods to partially solve a geometric problem which arises in algebraic topology. This is related to a particularly interesting formal power series, the [2]-series. Although our motivation stems from topology, we define the problems in a purely combinatorial way and indicate its usefulness. The problem in its general form is a long standing conjecture. We exend results by Bendersky-Davis and Wilson by several dimensions. |
